Around the Homestead: June in Review

Around the Homestead: June in Review

June has been a full and rewarding month here at The Crafty Homestead.

Over the past few weeks we’ve studied Scripture together, experimented in the kitchen, stitched crochet projects one square at a time, spent time in the garden, and continued building resources designed to help you learn practical skills with confidence.

Our theme for June was Maximum Light—a season of stepping out from behind the scenes, sharing what we’ve been building, and inviting you into the journey. Looking back, it’s amazing to see how much has grown.

If you’re new to The Crafty Homestead—or simply missed a few updates along the way—here’s a look around the homestead and everything we’ve been working on together over the last month.

📖 Faith Room

The Faith Room continued to grow into a place where busy people can build simple, meaningful Bible study habits.

This month we shared practical ways to study Scripture in everyday life, the personal story behind why the Faith Room exists, and expanded FaithOS with written devotionals, audio devotionals, video devotionals, and downloadable study resources.

Whether you have five minutes or an hour, our goal is to help you spend intentional time with God in a way that feels sustainable and encouraging.

This month’s highlights:

  • 5-Minute Scripture Study Pack
  • Weekly devotionals
  • FaithOS updates
  • Audio devotionals
  • Video devotionals
  • Growing Faith Room Library

🍪 Kitchen Table

The kitchen was busy this month!

We explored practical summer baking tips, shared one of our favorite seasonal cookie recipes, talked about learning to bake from scratch through plenty of trial and error, and celebrated the reopening of our local cottage bakery.

We also added helpful baking calculators and continued growing our Kitchen Library with resources designed to make baking a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

This month’s highlights:

  • Summer Baking Quick Reference
  • Dad’s Secret Stash S’Mores Pretzel Cookie Recipe
  • 8 Tips for Better Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Online baking tools and recipe calculators
  • Cookie Mixes and local bakery updates
  • Growing Kitchen Library

🧶 Craft Room

June’s biggest creative project was our Sunburst Granny Market Tote.

Rather than simply releasing a pattern, we invited you to follow the entire journey—from learning the first granny square, to watching the project take shape, to seeing the pattern come together, and finally celebrating its official soon coming bundle release.

One project became an entire collection of resources designed to help beginners build confidence one stitch at a time.

This month’s highlights:

  • Sunburst Granny Square Quick Guide
  • Sunburst Stitch Guide
  • Behind-the-scenes pattern development
  • Sunburst Granny Market Tote Pattern release
  • Pattern bundle and beginner resources

🌱 Garden Room

The garden reminded us that meaningful growth often starts much smaller than we imagine.

This month we shared practical tomato growing tips, explored herb gardening, and told the story of the tiny parking-space bucket garden that helped rebuild hope during one of life’s hardest seasons.

Whether you’re gardening on a few acres or a small patio, we hope these resources encourage you to grow wherever you are.

This month’s highlights:

  • Tomato Pruning & Propagation Guide
  • Beginner Herb Garden resources
  • Small-space gardening encouragement
  • The story behind the parking-space garden
  • Growing Garden Library

🏡 Around the Homestead

Beyond each individual room, we’ve been quietly building something even bigger.

This month we’ve continued expanding The Crafty Homestead Library into a growing collection of organized resources, developed new companion tools across our ecosystem, introduced The Crafty Homestead Market, prepared for local markets and bakery events, and continued building a place where faith, gardening, baking, crafting, and lifelong learning all belong under one roof.

Our hope has never been to teach everything. Our hope is to help people discover one room that feels like home and give them the confidence to begin there.

Because building a better life doesn’t happen all at once. It happens one useful skill, one simple system, and one faithful step at a time.

🌻 Looking Ahead

As June comes to a close, we’re stepping into a new season.

July will invite us to slow the pace just a little—to enjoy what we’ve built, care for our gardens, kitchens, and creative projects, and embrace rhythms of rest before the busy harvest months ahead.

Sometimes growth looks like planting. Sometimes it looks like harvesting. And sometimes it looks like simply tending what God has already placed in our hands.

We’re looking forward to sharing that next season with you.

✉️ We’d love to hear from you!
